Left Behind.

So far, I’ve spent my Labor Day weekend studying and cleaning. Exciting, I know.

I chose to take the EIT (Engineering in Training) exam this October, and my work is paying for a prep course, which means I get to spend 4 of my precious weekends in 8+ hour cram sessions, re-living my undergraduate classes all over again. This weekend is three fun days of engineering math, probability, and economics.

Lately, I actually LOOK FORWARD to going back to work after the weekend, because that’s actually a break from the classes.

Yes, I chose to subject myself to this. Not entirely sure why, other than most people in my degree don’t get the EIT or the subsequent PE, and getting the PE seemed like a good thing to put on my development plan. Heh.

Meanwhile, my boyfriend is off on a double decker houseboat on Lake Powell with 10 or so other friends. The only communication I’ve received from him so far is the following pic at 10am this morning, which shows just how early the festivities begun:

{Check out Mike’s pirate costume!}

Doesn’t seem quite fair, does it? :)

It’s not all bad, though. In fact, I thoroughly enjoyed my first night alone. Last night, I cleaned the house from top to bottom. Oh, how I miss spending my Friday nights staying up till 2am cleaning (yes, I’m an odd duck. an odd, OCD duck).

One of the best perks? No TV. Just silence, a clean house, and me.

Oh, and a stinkin’ headache from drinking too much caffeine and eating too much sugar while solving too many math and probability problems. Lol. I don’t miss that part at all!!

How’s everyone else’s weekend so far?

    Wow, memories…I took that test wayyy too many years ago. I don’t think my brain has ever been as tired as it was after that test. Good luck!!

    Hi Christi! I SHOULD have taken the test quite a while ago…when the material was more fresh :) I’m not looking forward to the test day — or how tired I will be — 8 hours sounds excruciating. But I planned my Hawaii vacation for the week immediately after the exam, so I’ll be able to relax then!
