Welcome to Lanaye.com!

Welcome to my new and improved site! YAY!

The move from LiveJournal has been long overdue.  In fact, I made it my #1 New Year’s resolution for 2010, but I didn’t tell y’all because I wanted it to be a surprise!

My amazing boyfriend helped give me the swift kick in the rear I needed to register a domain and get my new site up and running.  Seriously, with things like this, I can get so overwhelmed and lost in the details.  I cannot thank him enough for all the behind the scenes work he’s doing.

I’m literally buzzing with excitement at all the customization I can do! WHY DIDN’T I DO THIS SOONER?!?! It’s going to be hard for me to go to sleep tonight.  Or go to work tomorrow.

There are still many things I still need to do, like fill out the “About” page, and categorize all my old posts, and so much formatting — but the site is functioning and it already looks much better than the LJ site, in my humble opinion :)

Anyway, take a moment to leave a comment and say hello! Let me know what you think of the new site!  Also, if you have any wordpress pearls of wisdom, feel free to share them in the comments section.  All suggestions are extremely welcome! (yes, that’s a lot of exclamation points, but I’m just so dang excited!)

P.S.  For those of you confused by the title of my new blog, Lanaye is my middle name! Thanks to my mom for the unique moniker ;)

I guess she got over this :)
“It makes you wonder what some parents were thinking when, for instance, they named their baby girl Lanae (la-nay)–and she unfortunately ended up with a big nose (le nez [la-nay] in French means “the nose”). “

Well, fortunately, I do not have a big nose…but thanks for pointing that association out! I knew it couldn’t stay quiet for long ;) I did just find out there is a Lanaye bridge in Belgium. I think I’ll add that to my bucket list!
