Disney is giving away one million FREE 1-day, 1-theme park tickets to  Disneyland® Resort or Walt Disney World® Resort through their "Give a Day, Get a Disney Day" promotion. To be eligible, you only have to volunteer a day of service to a participating organization in your community. You can go here to look up qualifying volunteer activities near you.

Here are a few of the finer details of the promotion:

  • You can sign up a maximum of 8 members per household.
  • One ticket per person, regardless of the number of times you volunteer.
  • Program begins January 1, 2010 and continues until tickets are distributed or until December 15, 2010, whichever occurs first.
  • You can also donate your free ticket to one of the charities designated by Disney.

My co-worker signed his family up to make no-sew fleece blankets through the Gilbert Fire Department. I looked up my zip code and found hundreds of opportunities, including coaching soccer teams, volunteering at Girl Scout camps, cat shelter cleaning, & picking citrus.

Even if you’re not interested in Disney, you could still find volunteering opportunities that interest you – go check them out!

Looks like they gave away a million and it’s stopped at least for now. Great idea, though!
