Usually, a membership to Slow Food USA costs $60, but for the month of September, 2009, you can donate what you can afford and get a membership. Use the Slow Food online registration.

What is Slow Food, you might ask?

On the Slow Food USA web site, they define it as “an idea, a way of living, and a way of eating.”  It’s a grass roots organization with chapters throughout the U.S., including Phoenix.  I like this quote on their homepage: "Slow Food aims to be everything fast food is not." Basically, Slow Foods promotes the consumption of locally farmed, sustainable, clean (hormone-free, chemical-free) foods through educational events, special dinners, and farm tours. Anyone who enjoys cooking and taking time to savor their meals will appreciate Slow Foods USA.
