This is a fascinating piece that shows what 12 different families from around the world eat in a week, and how much it costs. You also get some insight into family size and standard of living. Remind me never to move to Germany, where it costs a whopping $500 per week for a family of 4! I liked how they showed two different 4-person families in the United States with vastly different budgets — the one that spends $150 a week must shop sales, or eat less meat. Maybe they coupon too, but their budget could be even lower if they did. The family from North Carolina spends $350 a week, which seems downright exorbitant to me.
