Wow, I just found out about a great money-saving opportunity for fresh produce here in the East Valley.  There is a co-op called Bountiful Baskets, which offers $50 worth of produce for $15. I’m thinking of trying it out this week. Looks like orders have to be made by Aug 22nd and picked up on Aug 25th (Saturday). There is a pick up site at I-10 and Ray — really close!

Here’s the quote from the Arizona forums at PYP:

I remember a few months ago someone was asking about a local co-op to join, and I kept forgetting to reply. I participate in one called Bountiful Baskets. Someone I know started it a while back, then another lady joined her and they run it together. It is non-profit, they don’t make a penny from it, but they work their tails off. It is really growing now. It has been just in the East Valley, but now they are expanding to the West side as well. You receive $50 worth of produce for only $15 (the first time you order it is $17 so they can buy more sorting baskets). You bring your own bag or basket to take it home in. Sometimes they also have granola, spices, teas, and oils to offer at extremely reduced rates. You can read about them at www.bountifulbaskets.org if anyone is interested. Just thought I’d share – it’s been a budget-saver for us, and fun to participate in, too!
