Well, I submitted my activities report for the past year and the National Science Foundation was kind enough to extend my funding for another year. That’s one less stressful thing on my plate.

I found out how much exactly I’m saving on graduate tuition. With tuition, health insurance, and fees, I would be paying $19,426 for a nonresident graduate student. Geez, school is expensive. That’s in addition to the $30,000 annual stipend I receive (before the government gets their cut via taxes).

Now I have to work on changing my out-of-stateness. Somehow, due to my partial tax year spent in Raleigh I am currently designated as a nonresident…and while I’m not paying the ungodly expensive tuition myself, I still want to change it in the event I (or my advisor) ever will.
