If I did my grocery shopping based on clean, beautiful, resort-like bathrooms I would shop solely at AJ’s. If I did my grocery shopping based on gorgeous displays of tantalizing produce and the most expansive selection of food and wine in town, I would shop solely at AJ’s. So why don’t I usually shop at AJ’s? Because I must shop according to price. And AJ’s is not cheap. SIGH. Sometimes, when I’m in AJ’s and I see all the beautifully dressed people ordering their lobster or steak at however million dollars a pound, I try to guess what kind of life they lead, what house they live in (in Awhatukee no doubt), what job they have. And I try to imagine myself not caring how much I spend on groceries. Never gonna happen. heh.

That’s okay. I just found out that there’s a Sunflower Market about 15 minutes from my house. Not too bad. It’s kind of like a farmer’s market. They have good produce, reasonably priced.

  1. Oh Yeah,

I want to have my own grocery store in my billion dollar house. That’s the only way I do not have to worry about the price because they will be freeee!!! and I can cook whatever I want :P

This saturday morning I experinced the whole sale produce section of the Farmer’s market for the first time. It is so much like Indian grocery markets but there was unique thing here. You just buy a big box of produce and there will be lots of people ready to share that (obviously chinese, india asian etc.). Money exchanges hands so fast, does not even take a minute.
